herringbone

This quilt is for sale! check out my Etsy shop here!

I wanted to make a simple quilt with a modern feel - what better than this baby quilt?
a black and white herringbone pattern makes up the front and vintage floral fabric comprises the back - I quilted it with bright blue thread and bound it in a coordinating blue solid. I'm loving this one!

Cars!

I was approached to create a quilt for a little boy - what's more perfect than this line of fabric of cars? I also love that the fabric is not the traditional colors one would expect - it made this quilt bright, colorful & easy to come together!

I paired the prints with solids of teal & orange and bound the quilt in a neutral gray.

[big thanks to the hubs for
patiently holding the quilt &
waiting for the perfect lighting!)

I also had the opportunity to whip up a few bibs for another lucky baby - I'm loving these pandas! I knew they would come in handy some day when I added it to my stash : )

I'm currently working on two big quilts - a king and a queen - and at least one will have the top finished this weekend...I'm determined!

out to sea

When I came across the fabric line Out to Sea by Sarah Jane I had actually just been invited to a baby shower where the mother-to-be had decided on a nautical theme for the baby's nursery - talk about fate. I had a short time frame (one weekend...) but I pushed through and finished with plenty of time!

I bound the quilt in the blue and white stripe included in the line and I love the result! It was a big hit at the baby shower & I know it will be loved for years to come -

happy quilting!

rainbows & stars

I found a way to reduce my stash and finally also take a shot at making a version of the beautiful rainbow quilts i've seen around - recently a friend commissioned a quilt for a baby whose gender was unknown - i thought, perfect! she was thrilled with the result, as I am!

Some time ago, my aunt bought a lot of fabric (...a lot) and asked me to make her four quilts of various sizes and four matching wall hangings - here's yet another finish for my aunt - this is the wall hanging, and the quilt is currently in progress and will be a king when finished - I quilted this one in a loopy pattern with matching green thread and i love the way it looks! also, the backing is vintage sheets that I picked up an an estate auction for pennies!

I have another finish to post soon - and quite a few WIPs...i am loving this fall weather - it really makes for amazing quilting days looking out the window and watching the leaves swirl around the mountainside - happy quilting!
